Cricket thrives when every participant feels welcome. This Code sets the standard for respect, safety and inclusion at every match, training session and online space connected with Australian cricket.
What the Code forbids
Any language, gesture, action or digital communication that a reasonable person would consider offensive, insulting, humiliating, intimidating, threatening, disparaging or vilifying when it targets someone’s
- race, colour, descent, culture, national or ethnic origin
- religion or belief
- sex, gender or sexual orientation
- disability
- marital, family or maternity status
Behaviour on the field, in the change rooms, on tour, at events or on social media is equally covered.
Who must comply
If you are part of Australian cricket, this Code covers you
- Players from Woolworths Cricket Blast to Big Bash and international squads
- Player support personnel including coaches, medical staff, analysts, mentors and agents
- Match officials and volunteers such as umpires, scorers, team managers, curators and ground staff
- Administrators, venue staff, media partners, parents, spectators and digital community members
The Code both protects your rights and holds you accountable for your conduct.

- Clear rules and quick, fair processes reduce the risk of legal exposure and reputational harm

Reporting an incident
- Notify an official immediately: captain, coach, team manager, umpire or match referee
- Lodge a formal report using Form REP 1 on the Integrity and Ethics Portal or call the Integrity Hotline 1300 324 742
- Reports should be submitted within seven days of the incident or discovery
All complaints are handled by Cricket Australia’s Integrity Unit, Commissioner and Appeal Panel. Natural‑justice safeguards apply to every party.
Possible sanctions
- Formal warnings and mandatory education
- Community service or fines
- Suspension, withdrawal of accreditation or removal from a squad
- Any other remedy the Commissioner considers appropriate
Penalties escalate for repeat or aggravated offences.
