International Cricket Council (ICC) Emerging Female Umpire Group member Ashlee Gibbons has been appointed to stand in the ICC Under 19 Women’s World Cup Final between South Africa and India at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Gibbons stood on-field in six tournament matches to date including the Semi Final featuring India and England. Gibbons has fulfilled a further two appointments as TV Umpire. Gibbons was recently appointed to the inaugural ICC Emerging Female Umpires Group following several seasons on the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires. In September 2023, Gibbons made her Women’s T20 International debut when Vanuatu played Papua New Guinea in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier held in Port Villa, Vanuatu.
Joining Gibbons in the Final will be ICC International Panel and Cricket Australia (CA) National Match Referee Panel member David Gilbert. Gilbert has officiated in both women’s and men’s One Day and T20 Internationals in recent seasons though this will be his first appointment to the Final of an ICC Event.
