What program opportunities are available?
Cricket is a sport for all. No matter your age, skill or ability level there’s a format to suit everyone.
What your child can expect?
A fun and supportive local community. Depending on whether your child is starting Woolworths Cricket Blast or is ready for Junior Cricket, one thing’s for sure, expect fun! Surrounded by teammates, there will be batting, bowling, fielding and game-based activities in a social setting.
What does she need to wear?
Cricket Blasters can wear their Cricket Blast Tee and hat (provided when they sign up) or active wear, and supportive footwear! Junior Cricketers wear their club kit! Many clubs provide support to new participants with flexibility around uniform to make sure your daughter feels comfortable
What does she need to bring with her?
A big smile and enthusiasm to get involved! Supportive coaches and teammates will be there to welcome, and assist settle any nerves. For junior cricket many clubs have protective equipment such as helmets and pads that girls can borrow or hire, your local club will advise!
Will there be other girls?
Yes, there’s more girls playing cricket than ever before! Cricket Blast may be mixed or in some local areas, girls only programs will be offered. Many clubs have all girls junior cricket teams playing in mixed or all girls competitions, there are lots of options.
How long does it go for?
Cricket Blast sessions go for 60 or 90 minutes depending on the age of your child. Junior Cricket (stage 1) matches go for 2 hours with everyone getting the opportunity to bat and bowl.
