To Our Cricket Family,

We would like to acknowledge the hard work of all those volunteers in flood impacted regions who have done enormous work at their clubs and across their communities in recent months.
 
The past few years have thrown up multiple challenges for cricket clubs across Australia which in turn has created an extra burden for already busy volunteers.
 
Australian Cricket is greatly indebted to all of those who continue to keep cricket clubs operating in the most trying circumstances and keep cricket at the heart of Australian life.

With the season in full swing we want to ensure you have the resources at your fingertips to drive participation and create a safe and healthy environment at your club.

We’ve got more details about the CA Coach App which now includes 120 “short, sharp videos” to help coaches at all levels to plan sessions and accelerate skill development.
We’ve also updated the junior pace bowling guidelines to help reduce the incidence of stress injuries suffered by young fast bowlers and to ensure they stay in the game.

Cricket Australia has updated the guidelines for junior pace bowlers!

 
The junior player pace bowling guidelines are based on available research and aim to reduce the risk of injury. CA, and other research demonstrates that between 20%-33% junior (<19 years of age) pace bowlers develop a lower back (lumbar) bone stress injury (typically a stress fracture) each season. These injuries are hard to detect in the early stages and take between 4-12 months to recover and return to play. Prevention is the best approach!
