February Community Umpires of the Month

Cricket Australia would like to congratulate the February Community Umpire of the Month recipients.

The penultimate Umpire of the Month awards have been awarded to three community umpires in the Male, Multicultural and Emerging categories.

Male category: John Pollard (VIC) from the Dandenong District Cricket Umpires Association has been selected for his contributions to the DDCA in January. John participated in the Victorian Metropolitan Cricket Union carnivals while still maintaining his DDCA appointments. John also performed at a high standard being appointed to a Grand Final to end the VMCU carnival.

Multicultural category: Raj Suares (WA) from the Metropolitan Junior Cricket Council has been umpiring Premier Cricket, but has demonstrated a passion and dedication to improving women’s and girl’s cricket competitions. Raj has added Friday night women and girls fixtures to umpire and recently prioritised umpiring the Perth Scorchers Women’s Cricket League finals over his regular premier cricket appointments.
