Women & Girls Week (October 20–26) is a national celebration recognising the incredible contribution of women and girls across all levels of cricket – from players and coaches to volunteers, umpires, and passionate supporters.
This week shines a spotlight on the inspiring female role models, community champions, and game-changers who are helping cricket grow and thrive. It’s also a chance to showcase the initiatives that are creating brilliant experiences and driving participation across the country.
A Week of Stories and Celebration
Running alongside the ICC Women’s World Cup, Women & Girls Week will feature “Seven Stories in Seven Days”, each highlighting a unique theme:
- Oct 20: Launch of the week, celebrating the journey of women and girls in cricket.
- Oct 21–22: From entry-level to elite – spotlight on Cricket Blast and the Aussie Women's teams.
- Oct 23–24: The people who make the game possible – celebrating volunteers and community heroes.
- Oct 25: Smash Series Cricket, the new, fun and fast social cricket format.
- Oct 26: The big stage – celebrating the WBBL and elite female athletes.

Growth by the Numbers
The momentum behind women and girls in cricket is undeniable:
- 6% year-on-year growth in total female participation including an 8% increase in girls joining Woolworths Cricket Blast
- 70% growth in female participation since the start of CA’s strategic plan
- In the pilot season, girls made up 55% of all Smash Series registrations
These numbers reflect the passion, commitment, and community support driving the game forward.
