Australian Umpires in the ICC Women’s World Cup

International Cricket Council (ICC) Emerging Umpires Group and Cricket Australia Contracted Umpire Panel members Claire Polosak and Eloise Sheridan recently completed successful ICC Women’s T20 World Cup campaigns held in England.

Both umpires were appointed to the Tournament Opener between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston in Birmingham, Sheridan on-field and Polosak as TV Umpire. For Sheridan, included in her five on-field Group Stage appointments was a trip to Lords for the match between England and the West Indies. Sheridan was also appointed as TV Umpire for the Group Stage match between Pakistan and India, at Edgbaston. Polosak was appointed to six Group Stage matches at Headingly, Leeds and the County Ground in Bristol.

Both umpires were rewarded for their strong performances with appointment to the Semi Final between England and South Africa at The Oval in London. Sheridan was appointed on-field with Polosak fulfilling TV Umpire duties.

Polosak will remain in the Northern Hemisphere for the women’s One Day International series between Ireland and the West Indies in Magheramason, Bready, Northern Ireland this month. For Sheridan, her next international assignments see her return to England for the women’s One Day International series between England and Ireland in September.
