The Big Bash Schools Challenge is the ultimate way to get your kids active and learning lifelong skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, resilience, and active listening, all in a fun and engaging environment!
The Big Bash Schools Challenge is a dynamic, free cricket program designed for young children to participate in at school and at home. Over a four-week period, participants spend 10 minutes a day developing fundamental motor skills, laying the foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle. Integrating a fun, digital experience, this program makes learning cricket skills exciting and rewarding.
The Big Bash Schools Challenge is the ultimate way to get your kids active and learning lifelong skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, resilience, and active listening, all in a fun and engaging environment! Building on the skills learned in school, this challenge boosts kids confidence as they throw, bounce, and catch their way to earning XP points and customising their very own cricket avatar. Plus, you can join in on the fun!
You can use any device that you have on hand that has access to the internet.
No there isn’t an app for the Big Bash Schools Challenge. All you need is the URL - https://schoolschallenge.cricket.com.au/ and a device that has access to the internet.
To register your child to participate in this specific program your school needs to be running the program. When the school is setting up the program for your child’s class, you will receive an invite link/QR code that you can use to register to the program. Please contact your school if you don't have this.

If you wish to update your Cricket ID, you can login into the Cricket ID here on this website > click on your name in the top right-hand corner click on account or communication preferences dependent on what you want to change.
Your school will be supplying you with your invite code/link to class. If you haven’t received this please get in contact with the teacher running the program/the school.
It looks like you may have received the incorrect class code, please contact the teacher of the class/school for the specific code.
The ask for the name of your child is only viewed by the teacher in the portal, so he/she can see the students taking the activities home to master! This name does not get distributed or shared anywhere else.
You can change your child’s mascot at any time throughout the challenge.
When logged into the Challenge portal as a student > Click on the “Profile” button in the bottom right-hand corner > There will be a "Change Mascot" button & a "Edit Profile" button.

You can see what equipment your child has gained and equip the equipment to the mascot.
The store is where your child can spend tickets earned through participating in the at home challenges on items to customise their mascot.
The challenge section is where your child can participate in the at home challenges by watching the videos, starting the timer and adding in their scores to earn XP and Tickets to level up and customise their mascot.
The tags under each activity helps clearly define how long, where and who you can do the challenge with. A list of all the tags is coming soon.
That's okay we all make mistakes some time! What you can do is retry the activity and increase your score by taking more catches or if you wish move onto the next challenge.
Your child can attempt that any at home activity as many times as they like and will earn tickets and XP every time they attempt the activity.
The purpose of this is that through constant repetition of the specific skills this encourages the child to excel in the relevant skill assisting with development of hand eye coordination, resilience and critical thinking.
Yes, your child can go back to any week and redo the activity. This heavily encourages spaced repetition of the specific skills that are being developed and encourages the child to excel.
As the program runs over 4 weeks at school. A key element of the program is that the student learns the skill/does the relevant activity at school then goes home and completes it. So each week when the activity is undertaken at school it then unlocks so you can do it at home.
Your child may need help logging into the portal, from there it's up to you if you wish to partake in the challenge!
XP is earned by completing the catching throwing and bouncing activities that are available. XP allows your child to level up and unlock equipment for their character.
Tickets are earned in many ways throughout the portal. Tickets allow your child to customise their character through equipment that has been unlocked via XP.
Streaks is a series of consecutive wins or achievements within the challenge, the longer the streak the more points and XP you earn!

Firstly, your child must complete activities to level up and earn XP and Tickets to unlock equipment that can be purchased through the store.
Once you have unlocked equipment via completing challenges, got to the store space and click on the relevant item that your child wishes to purchase. After the item is purchased, you can equip it directly to the Big Bash Mascot.
All you need is any small ball, or even a rolled up pair of socks will work! If you wish to purchase a ball you have multiple options, you can purchase one here or head down to the shops/purchase one online.
Dependent on the ball used these activities have been designed to do anywhere. There may be a case where you may need to use a wall or it may be easier with a partner.
These activities can be done in your home, garage, basketball court or in the local park as long as you have internet and a space to be able to throw, catch and bounce.
No. Participating in the challenge can be done anywhere that has space to be able to throw, catch and bounce + you have internet.
