Running the program in class helps students develop Fundamental movement skills like catching, throwing, and bouncing in just four weeks!
Students take the skills home to earn XP!
Students use a ball at home, log into the portal with a parent, and master the skills learnt in class to earn XP and customize their Big Bash Mascot!
The School can win great prizes just for participating!
Participating schools can win prizes like vouchers, cricket equipment, and even student rewards — just keep earning XP!

Registering for the Program
Where do I register my school for the Big Bash Schools Challenge?
Only selected schools have been picked to run the program in Term 1 and 2 2025, if you are interested in running the program when the program nationally launches in 2025 please contact your local state cricket representative or email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au.
Does the program cost anything to run?
The program is completely free, the virtual resources and balls come at no cost to you and the school.
Can I change the details of my program registration after I have submitted it?
You it can be changed depending on the time that you may want the program details changed:
- if you haven’t received a confirmation email that your program has been approved. please email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au, please make sure you quote your school and if you’re the key contact for the program.
- If you have received a confirmation email that your program has been approved, you can't make any changes. please email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au, please make sure you quote your school and if you’re the key contact for the program.
Is there a max number of classes/students that can participate?
There are no limitations to the number of classes / students that can participate in the program.
Logging In (Cricket ID)
What is a Cricket ID?
Cricket ID Is one account for all Cricket Australia sites and apps that provides a tailored experience and opens you up to resources available through Cricket Australia's digital products and services. You would have created a Cricket ID if you have registered as School Ambassador.
Would I have a Cricket ID?
You would have a Cricket ID if you have partaken in any of the following –
- As a Teacher, Cricket Coach or Umpire - registered for courses and programs for coaches, umpires, schools and clubs on the PlayCricket website.
- As a Player or Family of a Player - Whilst registering to all community cricket competitions and programs via PlayHQ. Alternatively, you have followed the matches and players that matter to you on the PlayCricket App.
- As a Cricket Fan – Logged into cricket.com.au, CA Live App, and the Big Bash App. To Watch live coverage and radio broadcasts of BBL, State and International matches.
I can’t log into my Cricket ID?
If you are having issues logging into your Cricket ID, try the following steps -
- Check your email: Make sure the email that you are using is the right email for your Cricket ID. You may have multiple Cricket ID accounts have used a personal email instead of school email.
- Reset your password: If you don't know your password, you can reset it by clicking the forget password button below where you add your password in the log in process, then follow the prompts.
- Contact Support: If your still having issues please contact Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au with your name, potential emails used and school.
How do I update my Cricket ID details?
If you wish to update your Cricket ID, you can login into the Cricket ID here on this website > click on your name in the top right-hand corner click on account or communication preferences dependent on what you want to change.
Adjusting Program Details
I need to add a class after I’ve already registered / had challenge approved?
Only a Cricket Australia rep can add a class so you need to get in touch with Cricket Australia. Please email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au, please make sure you quote your school and if you’re the key contact for the program.
I need to edit a class?
After logging into the Teacher portal From your dashboard screen after you log in > click on the class that you wish to edit > then click on settings.
From here you can change the class name, year level, number of students as well as edit the teachers who have access, may need access or even remove access if necessary.
If you don’t have access to a specific class, please talk to your School Ambassador.
My class year level isn't available?
The Big Bash Schools Program is primarily for Prep/Foundation, Grade 1 & Grade 2 Students.
If you want to run it for another class age group please email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au.
How do I remove/add a teacher from a class?
After logging into the teacher portal. From your dashboard screen after you log in > click on the class that you wish to edit > then click on settings > add the bottom of the page there is a lit of teachers names assigned to the class > Click the remove button to remove a teacher or at the bottom of the list click add teacher if you wish to add a teacher.
If you don’t have access to a specific class, please talk to your School Ambassador.
Adding Other Teachers
How do I remove/add a teacher from a class?
Only an ambassador can remove teachers from a class. Teachers can invite other teachers, and resend invites, but they can’t cancel invites or remove other teachers.

From your dashboard screen after you log in > click on the class that you wish to edit > then click on settings > add the bottom of the page there is a list of teachers names assigned to the class > Click the remove button to remove a teacher or at the bottom of the list click add teacher if you wish to add a teacher. If you wish to resend a teacher invite, click on the Resend Invite link.
If you don’t have access to a specific class, please talk to your School Ambassador.
I added the incorrect email to a teacher when adding them, how do I fix this?
After logging into the Teachers portal. From your dashboard screen after you log in > click on the class that you wish to edit > then click on settings > add the bottom of the page there is a list of teachers names assigned to the class > Click the remove button to remove the teacher with the incorrect email > at the bottom of the list click add teacher to re add the teacher with the correct email address.
If you don’t have access to a specific class, please talk to your School Ambassador.
Why can’t I see any classes on the platform?
If you don’t have access to a specific class, please talk to your School Ambassador.
If you don’t know who your School Ambassador is please email Schoolambassador@cricket.com.au with your school name and state.
Ambassadors can only see classes on their dashboard once they’ve been fully set up.
You’ll receive an email from Cricket Australia when your registered challenge is ready for setup. When you log into the BBSC platform, you’ll be prompted to review the challenge.
Here, you can:
- Name the individual classes
- Set the number of students
- Invite teachers to join
Only after completing this review will the classes appear on your dashboard.
Can a teacher have access to multiple classes in the portal?
Yes, a teacher can have access to all classes in a portal if added, they can even have access to classes across multiple schools.
Equipment/Certificates
I need more balls for the classroom.
Any ball can be used for this program. Feel free to use what your school already has.
If you would like to purchase more balls, you can order these through the Cricket Blast Shop (single sign on through school ambassador login on playcricket) or speak to state rep.
Do the students need a ball for in the class and at home activities?
We provide balls based on a per participant structure. Any ball can be used for this program.
For the at home activities any ball can be used to participate, alternatively a parent can purchase a stress ball to participate through the cricket blast shop, which can be found at the top of the page.
Do participants need a specific ball?
Any ball that can bounce can be used for this program.
I didn’t receive a program guide with the balls, how do I get one?
All the resources that you require will be available through the teacher portal to run the program at school, any extra support can be found in the Teacher Support portal here.
Why doesn't every student get a personalised certificate?
Every student who takes part in the At Home Challenge will get a personalised certificate. If a student does not take part in At Home Challenge, they will still get a certificate it just won't be personalised given they did not progress through the platform.
The purpose of the at-home challenges is to promote development of fundamental movement skills and develop lifelong skills through modern e-learning practices such as Adaptive Learning Paths, Habit Stacking and Gamification
Where do I find Certificates to print?
The certificate will become available Once you have completed the program in class. To access, click on the student's tab in the challenge portal logged on as a teacher/school ambassador.
You have 3 options when it comes to downloading the certificates –
- You can download all the personalised templates.
- You can download the generic templates.
- You can download the templates individually.
To Note - Parents can also download the certificate through the students challenge portal once the program is finished.
Running the Program
Does it matter where you run the program in?
The beauty of the Big Bash Schools Challenge is that it can be run in the classroom, on a basketball court or on the oval. Due to the balls being soft, all you need is an large enough sized area so the students have room to participate.
Can I play the activity videos directly to the class?
Yes, you can, the videos have been developed and designed to be consumed by students at all levels.
It is up to you if you wish to instruct the class yourself or leverage the videos.
How do student earn badges?
The students earn badges by completing the weekly fundamental movement skills they learn in class at home, entering them via the at-home portal. A parent/guardian will need to register to the class to access the at-home portal.
Student Platform Access
How do I resend a parent/student invite?
To resend a parent/student invite all you need to do is click on student in the class challenge portal as a teacher or school ambassador. Download the invite or copy the invite link and send it to the parent.
What’s the purpose of the students doing the program from home?
The Big Bash Schools Challenge is the ultimate way to get your kids active and learning lifelong skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, resilience, and active listening, all in a fun and engaging environment! Building on the skills learned in school, this challenge boosts kids' confidence as they throw, bounce, and catch their way to earning XP points and customising their very own cricket avatar. Plus, you can join in on the fun! Over the four weeks, you'll have plenty of opportunities to connect with your budding superstar through activities and challenges that promote teamwork, collaboration, and celebration. Through repetition and building habits, the program reinforces key skills over time, gamification elements like rewards and peer recognition to sustain motivation, and a customised learning journey for different skill levels. Let's make this an unforgettable experience for you and your child!

Are invite links unique to specific student or class?
An invite link for the at home component is unique to each class set up in the challenge portal by your school ambassador.
Post Program
Can I access the platform once the program is over?
Yes. You will not be able to add any new classes or students, but kids can continue to access platform outside of challenge dates to increase skills / have fun and teachers/ambassadors can access to see results etc.
How do I sign up to run the program again?
Ambassadors will need to register a new challenge through the CA website. Whole process starts again i.e. CA approval, add class, teachers etc.
This will be available from the 3rd of June 2025 onwards.
