Welcome to the 4th issue of

Cricket is complete for the summer season. Hopefully everyone enjoyed their season, hit a milestone or two along the way, and finished with standing in a Grand Final. Some umpires may get straight into winter competitions, while many will take a break. But first, it's time to recognise some achievements before closing the 2024/25 season. 

COMMUNITY UMPIRE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE SEASON

A new award was announced to recognise the important role Umpire Administrator's have in our game.

From recruiting umpires, creating an enjoyable and inclusive environment and ensuring the future of cricket umpiring, their contributions are invaluable. The inaugural recipient is Natalia Isaacs from Western Region Junior Cricket Association! Read more

The first summer of these awards saw a total of 18 umpires recognised for their contributions.

We would like to congratulate all winners and nominees of the Umpire of the Month Awards for Season 24/25! But the excitement doesn’t stop here. The Cricket Australia Community Match Official of the Year will be announced in a couple of weeks inline with National Volunteer Week (19-25 May).

NORTHERN TERRITORY

Looking for a winter umpiring opportunity? Come and experience cricket in the Top End!

The Darwin & Districts Cricket Competition (DDCC) runs from April to September, making it the perfect winter escape. Enjoy Darwin’s iconic dry season weather while umpiring a wide variety of matches. With matches played on weekends and weeknights, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and develop your umpiring in a supportive environment. Accommodation support can be arranged through the NT Cricket Match Officials Association (NTCMOA).
