Cricket Australia would like to congratulate the February Male and Emerging Umpires of the Month.
Mark (NSW) has been named Male Umpire of the Month and David (Qld) is the Emerging Umpire of the Month. Mark's recognition means that Sydney Shires Cricket Umpire Association have had a member recognised two months-in-a-row.
Mark’s commitment to junior cricket is exceptional. Umpiring every weekend across multiple age groups, he supports young players with positivity, guidance, and strong rapport. He emphasises sportsmanship, creates enjoyable experiences, and consistently earns key junior finals appointments. His dedication, reliability, and mentorship make a significant impact on developing cricketers.
David has shown outstanding dedication in his first season, taking matches every weekend and willingly travelling over two hours to distant grounds. His calm manner, eagerness to learn, and positive feedback from clubs highlight his impact. For a new umpire, he has quickly become a valuable and respected asset to the association.
