March Community Umpires of the Month

Cricket Australia would like to congratulate the final Community Umpire of the Month recipients for season 2025/26.

The final instalment recognises Andrew Bridge (Warrnambool Cricket UA, Vic) in the Male category and Dempsey Collins (Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket, WA) in the Emerging category.

Andrew is a highly respected community umpire, winning Umpire of the Season three times in four years. A member of the Independent Selection Panel, he mentors new and women umpires, actively recruits officials, and provides positive leadership, guidance, and professionalism that consistently enhances umpiring standards across the association.

Dempsey recently won Best Match Official at WA Cricket's Community Cricket Awards. A standout young umpire, Dempsey Collins has become a trusted and respected figure within Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket. Calm, confident and composed, he ensures every match is safe, enjoyable and fair for all involved.

This summer saw an increase in nominations by 50% compared to last season. The Male and Emerging categories were represented every month, while there were only 5 recipients across the Female and Multicultural categories (2 and 3 respectively).

Congratulations again to Andrew and Dempsey, and to all this season’s recipients. The contributions recognised are only a small portion of all the wonderful umpires who make match day a fair, safe and, most importantly, an enjoyable experience!
