Australian Cricket is committed to growing the game for women and girls, increasing participation across all facets of the sport including more playing opportunities at every level.
We want to ensure that all cricket environments are as welcoming as possible so that more women and girls develop a lifelong love of the game.
Being involved in sport at a supportive and welcoming community club can foster an individual's sense of belonging, confidence, and develop valuable skills – beyond batting and bowling.
We want women and girls to be encouraged to play an active role in their clubs by:
- taking on leadership roles,
- training and playing the game when and how they want,
- knowing they are welcome and supported.
We recognise that 'women and girls' are not one homogenous group and represent an incredibly diverse community. While grouped together on this page, it is important to be conscious of the different experiences, needs and wants across this group and apply an intersectional lens to the development of initiatives and programs.
